Objective of the class: is to provide children with the necessary tools to understand and speak Hindi in a fun, easy, casual setting using handouts, stories, poems, games and worksheets.  Basic grammar rules will be introduced as we move along lessons and regular vocabulary enrichment provided – allowing kids to begin communication in various settings.

Method of teaching : course will be taught in English and Hindi, initially focusing on listening and speaking.  As students progress, reading and writing will be introduced.  Between units, there will be a test followed by discussion.

Recommendations will be provided on child-friendly programs to watch at home to enhance student’s ability to contextually understand sentences and usage of Hindi words and sentences.

After an initial assessment, kids will be put in groups based on age and knowledge of language, with the focus being to provide individualized attention to each child.

Books: Initially study material will be provided.  Any books needed will be communicated later.  Students are to have a dedicated notebook, or section in a notebook for Hindi.
